Aluminum Bronze Swing Check Valves are designed to prevent backflow in pipelines. The fluid flows in a straight line through the valve, resulting in minimal pressure drop. As the media flows through the line, the disc swings into the open position. When back pressure occurs in the line, the disc is held in the closed position to prevent reverse flow. These valves can be installed in both horizontal and vertical lines. However, they must be installed in the correct orientation relative to the media flow, as indicated by the flow direction arrow marked on the valve body. It is important to note that swing check valves are intended for horizontal use only. When fluid pushes on the stopper in the correct direction, the valve swings open to allow flow. Conversely, if the flow moves in the opposite direction, the valve swings shut. The check valve should not be used in vertical applications, as gravity may interfere with the swinging motion and affect its functionality.
