In China we have 22 injection molding factories and our local community college working together to fill the skills gap that has been created by the recession. We have renamed it Computerized Manufacturing and Engineering Technology and are branding the opportunity as a career. The Chinese Community College is doing an 8 week full time "boot Camp" to give starter skills in plastic injection mold making for unemployed and youth. The graduates of boot camp where they have to pass character skills tests also will almost be assured of a career job in China.
We are out here but the fact that Chinese injection molding factories are low balling the pay that people like me have been in the business for 30 years is disgusting. Try getting a high paid executive to come down 50 or 70 k or more to run your injection mold factory with his or her experience and they would laugh at you.We have earned our wages by raises and experience just like all the big shots.
