The Uni-L self-stabilizing lumbar interbody fusion cage is a PEEK (polyetheretherketone) device featuring integrated pure-tantalum radiopaque markers and secured by two titanium alloy locking clips.
Available in multiple footprints and heights, the UniL is implanted between two lumbar vertebral bodies and self-locked using a dual-clip mechanism. It employs the distraction-compression stabilization principle, creating opposing forces that resist shear and rotation while transmitting axial load.
This delivers immediate postoperative segmental stability, supporting natural physiological functions and promoting osseous fusion.
The hollow inner chamber enables abundant bone graft placement to maintain disc height and lumbar lordosis until fusion is achieved.
Standalone Lumbar Interbody Fusion Cage Features
● Immediate Fixation & Height Restoration: Clips anchor vertically into adjacent vertebrae, preventing micro-motion and device migration.
● ZeroProfile Design: Fully seated within the disc space—no protrusion—minimizing soft tissue irritation and risk of adjacent-segment degeneration.
● Serrated Endplates: Enhances short-term mechanical stability through frictional grip.
● Radiopaque Markers: Tantalum markers enable intra- and postoperative imaging for accurate placement verification.
● Bone-Mimetic Elastic Modulus: PEEK’s modulus is similar to cancellous bone, reducing stress shielding and aiding bone integration.
● High Fatigue Resistance: Durable construction ensures long-term load-bearing capacity.
● Excellent Biocompatibility: Suitable for sustained implantation.
● Imaging Compatibility: Radiolucent on X-ray and MRI, providing clear and artifact-free imaging.
● Secure Clip Locking: Two locking clips ensure anti-backout retention and stable anchorage.
